Bauchman’s hat trick boosts East Coast over Maine, 6-1

Maine could not stop East Coast\’s Matt Bauchman, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-1 win.

Bauchman got on the scoresheet 12:23 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:58 into the first and at 18:23 into the first.

East Coast\’s penalty kill excelled, as East Coast gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

East Coast stifled Maine\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. East Coast kept Maine\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and William Dunham made 28 saves on 34 shots.

East Coast also got points from Mason Smith, who also registered two goals and two assists to lead the team in points and Tom Potter, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for East Coast were Samu Landen, Cole Norsetter, Max Campbell, and Jon Mathieu, who contributed one each and Michael Bellmore and Preston Palamara, who each chipped in two.

Maine\’s penalty kill managed to stymie East Coast\’s power play, giving up only one goal while playing with a man down. Maine\’s penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Maine finished with 22 penalty minutes.

Maine was led by Jordy Knoren, who scored the team\’s only goal. Knoren scored short handed 9:01 into the second period to make the score 3-1 East Coast. Maine found itself down a man on Ryder Parkhurst\’s charging. Chris King assisted on the tally.

Aidan Critchlow rejected 15 shots on goal for East Coast. East Coast incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
