Irving’s goals lift East Coast to 3-0 victory over Maine

Andrew Irving had two goals to lead East Coast to a 3-0 victory over Maine.

Irving found the back of the net 2:30 into the first period to make the score 1-0 East Coast and again while 16:06 into the first to make the score 2-0 East Coast.

East Coast was boosted by Aidan Critchlow, who turned in a shutout with 29 saves. Critchlow managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.13 prior to the game.

East Coast put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Maine to score on any of its eight power plays. Team\’s forwards weren\’t the only contributers offensively, and the team\’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with three goals.

East Coast also had goals scored by Matt Bauchman and Samu Landen, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for East Coast were Rick Mulligan, who had one and Preston Palamara, who had two.

Maine excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. Maine could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game.

East Coast incurred 42 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Brandon Daigle made 24 saves for Maine on 27 shots.
