Latham’s goals lift New England to 3-1 victory over Maine

Behind a great game by Jake Latham, who had two goals, New England defeated Maine, 3-1.

Latham scored at 5:44 into the second period to make the score 1-1 and again while 12:55 into the second to make the score 2-1 New England.

New England excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. New England forced Maine goalie Brandon Daigle to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Ryan Gauvin also scored for New England. Other players who recorded assists for New England were Kyle Weiss, who had two and Brian Glover and Ian McNamara, who contributed one each.

Maine was led by Matt Jerome, who scored the team\’s only goal. Jerome scored 5:32 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Maine. Travis Townsend assisted on the tally.

Dominic Lamanno recorded 18 saves for New England. New England incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Brandon Daigle made 39 saves for Maine on 42 shots. Maine incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
