The Wild traveled to the Long Beach Sharks this past weekend for a 2 game series with a 7:30p start Friday night and 8:00p start Saturday. In game 1, the Wild came out flying getting a 2 goal lead in the first. Lema Muradov scored first just 3:37 in, with assists going to Kyle Sikora and Daniel Avdioukin. Avdioukin would get the 2nd goal for the Wild unassisted 6:21 in. The Sharks would respond with 4 unanswered goals in the 1st making the score 4-2 going into the 2nd. Long Beach would tally 3 more in the 2nd period making the score 7-2 going into the 3rd. The Sharks would get two more in the 3rd before the Wild would sneak another past Shark’s goaltender, Augustine. Wild’s Ryan Gilboy would put up the 3rd for Maine assisted by Reagan Wintle and Dean Pratt. Gilboy would score again with just :01 left int he game assisted by Lema Muradov and Jacob Branson on the power play.
The Wild came out Saturday night looking to respond. This time, it would be Long Beach who got on the board first with a goal by Oskar Lindberg 3:06 into the 1st. Lema Muradov would respond for the Wild with an unassisted goal 5:19 in to the period to tie the game at 1 leading into the 2nd. The 2nd period would be all Long Beach as they gained a 2 goal lead to head into the 3rd. Long beach would extend their lead to 4 in the first half of the 3rd period. Gilboy would once again try and get some momentum for the Wild notching a goal 12:20 into the period assisted by Zach Gagne. Gilboy’s goal would not be enough to gain momentum for the Wild as Long Beach would secure the win with 1 more goal giving them a 6-2 victory.
The Wild are back in action next weekend, traveling to the Cape Cod Islanders on 10/29 for 5:30p puck drop and then return home to host the East Coast Minutemen in a 11:00a matchup on 10/30.
