The Maine Wild's offense had a big night, peppering the Cape Cod Islanders with 28 shots throughout the game. The Maine Wild took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Jeffrey Gratz.
During the first, Webb opened the scoring for Maine with a goal at 3:45 with assists from his teammates Shestakov and Haynes.
In the second, Kervinen finally put Cape Cod on the board with a goal at 11:55 with a helper from his linemate Sinisalo. Gratz quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 13:47 with assists from his linemates, Mehall and Ledbetter.
The Wild’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Rodrigues as he stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced. Rodrigues’ counterpart, Maki, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 28, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Maine Wild’s record to (16-17-3-2).
