New Hampshire Fighting Spirit survives Maine Wild comeback, wins 4-3

Maine Wild tried its best to erase a two-goal deficit, but New Hampshire Fighting Spirit would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.

A goal by Alex Peddle put New Hampshire Fighting Spirit up 4-2 in the third period, but Maine Wild pulled to within one on Spence Cowand\’s tally 15:36 into the third period.

New Hampshire Fighting Spirit kept Maine Wild\’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Lucas Osborne made 34 saves on 38 shots.

New Hampshire Fighting Spirit also got points from Nick Pino, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, New Hampshire Fighting Spirit received assists from Travis Blinkhorn, who had two and Mike Heffernan, Tyler Burton, Josh Crane, Andrew Gass, and Brett Bittner, who each chipped in one.

Maine Wild\’s offense rang up 35 shots on New Hampshire Fighting Spirit\’s net.

Maine Wild was helped by Matt Henderson, who racked up one goal. Henderson scored on the power play 7:38 into the third period to make the score 3-2 New Hampshire Fighting Spirit. Maine Wild had taken the advantage when New Hampshire Fighting Spirit\’s Josh Bowman got sent off for boarding. Noel Fischer picked up the assist. Maine Wild additionally got points from Fischer, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Maine Wild came via Ryan Donohue and Chris King, who contributed one each.
