Maine falls to New England in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Brian Glover gave New England a 2-1 (OT) victory over Maine when he scored 2:13 into the extra period.

New England was led by goalie Dalton Doire, who finished with 36 saves while allowing one goal. The solid play of Doire will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 2.57.

Maine\’s power play was ineffective against New England\’s penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

New England\’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Maine power plays. New England did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. New England puts an average of 4.7 pucks into the net per game. New England forced Maine goalie Lucas Osborne to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots. New England could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 32 minutes in penalties during the game.

New England also got a goal from Ryan Gauvin as well. Other players who recorded assists for New England were Steve Upton, Steve Crocker, and Andre Nybo, who each chipped in one.

Maine excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Maine\’s offense rang up 37 shots on New England\’s net.

Maine was led by Matt Jerome, who scored the team\’s only goal. Jerome scored 1:07 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Nick Deveau assisted on the tally.
