Wild Gains Point From Weekend Series

The Wild fell twice to the New Hampshire Fighting Spirit this weekend but managed to capture one point from Saturday's overtime loss.

The Wild fell 2-1 on Saturday at Biddeford Ice Arena. After a scoreless first period, Brett Bittner of the Fighting Spirit notched the game's first goal. The Wild answered with the equalizer from Corey Wright. However, the Fighting Spirit would win the game when Dominic Gruttadauria beat Wild netminder Lucas Osborne.

"Saturday I thought we played really well, we just couldn't find the second goal so we lost in OT to first team in our division," said Wild Head Coach Mike Tenney. "Osborne was unreal, he stopped 40 of 42 shots. So he was really top notch, we had really good goaltending. I thought the boys worked hard out of break, effort-wise. We brought a lot to the table though it was not our best, execution-wise."

On Sunday, the Wild ran into penalty trouble, and were stunned by the Fighting Spirit, 3-0. The Wild allowed two power play goals in the contest.
