East Coast\’s Matt Bauchman had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team\’s 7-4 win over Maine.
Bauchman scored at 8:55 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Maine and again while 18:59 into the third to make the score 7-4 East Coast.
East Coast forced Maine\’s goaltenders to work all game long, launching 34 shots and forcing 27 saves. Brandon Daigle made 16 stops and Robson Stewart made 11. East Coast surpassed its usual scoring output this season. East Coast averages 2.8 goals per game.
East Coast also got points from Mason Smith, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, Jacob Lilledahl, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Preston Palamara, who also tallied one goal and one assist. East Coast also had goals scored by Michael Bellmore and Cole Norsetter, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for East Coast were Kyler Harding, Jon Macdonald, Albert Wiggins, and Jon Mathieu, who contributed one each.
Maine\’s penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 17.0 minutes per game Maine had been spending in the box.
Maine was helped by Shayne Plummer, who had one goal. Plummer scored 4:34 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Maine. Collin Fader picked up the assist. Maine additionally got points from Jordy Knoren, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Fader, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Maine also got a goal from Matt Jerome as well. More assists for Maine came via Noel Fischer, Zach Gagne, and Greg Terlov, who each chipped in one.
Aidan Critchlow recorded 18 saves for East Coast. East Coast totaled 35 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-4 on the power play. East Coast ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Wiggins was ejected from the game. Maine registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For Maine, Fischer was ejected from the game.
