Despite the weekend's dismal scoresheet, Maine Wild Head Coach Mike Tenney sees bright spots in his team.
"We lost 6 to 1 on Friday. We played better as the game went on. I thought we hung in there against a very good Jersey Shore team," said Tenney."
Saturday's loss was the highlight of the weekend, with the Wild getting numerous chances and lots of fast-paced action.
"Saturday we lost 11 to 4 but actually I thought we played the best in this game although the score did not indicate that," he said. "It was an up and down game with a lot of scoring chances both ways, they scored on more of them than we did. It could have been an 11 to 9, game that is how many chances there were."
Sunday was a heartbreaking 3-2 loss.
"We came back to tie 1 to 1 and 2 to 2 but we just could not finish regulation to get it to overtime," said Tenney, "as they scored with 44 seconds left to win the game. I thought we played well overall but consistency is still an issue."
