Reilly Sean came up big, stopping 35 of 38 shots throughout the game. The Maine Wild took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Dany Shestakov.
Mason Ledbetter did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Tyler Webb had a busy night with 2 goals. Tanner Little delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Cam St. Amand chipped in with 2 assists.
In the first, Ledbetter opened the scoring for the Wild with a goal at 0:58 with helpers from Haynes and Dorman. Webb netted a goal at 4:08 with helpers from his linemates, Gratz and Bannon. Conway finally put the Islanders on the board with a goal at 9:15 with assists from his teammates Constable and Little. Loone deposited a goal at 19:32 with helpers from Little and St. Amand.
During the second, Gratz answered for Maine with a goal at 3:40 with an assist from defenseman Panfen. Little answered for Cape Cod with a goal at 7:42 with helpers from St. Amand and Hinckley. Shestakov answered for the Wild with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:56 with assists from Ledbetter and Murphy. Decarolis quickly followed with a goal at 15:31 with helpers from his linemates, Mehall and Gratz.
In the third period, Webb scored a goal at 3:34 with assists from Haynes and Bannon. Ledbetter quickly followed with a goal at 4:34 with helpers from his linemates, Shestakov and Dorman.
Maine’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Sean’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 38 shots he faced. Sean’s counterpart, Maki, also had a big night, managing to stop 44 of 51, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Maine Wild’s record to (6-4-2-1).
